MBar 2nite - Garage Fri -- Yuletide tidings of redundant repetition
Greetings. I know ye haven't heard from me in a while. I'd love to tell you that it was because I won the lottery, dropped everything, and became a full time space tourist, but...
Ha ha! "Space tourist." That phrase has "future euphemism" written all over it.
Er, as I was about to say before I so impolitely interrupted myself, you've not heard from me in some time. It's been a busier than usual holiday season for me, and that says a lot. Oddly enough, I haven't gone into full humbug mode.
Even though this is late notice via email, I figured I'd spill the sugar plums: I will be leading a trio this evening at the MBar in midtown Manhattan. Midtown is such a wonderful place to be this time of year. Ha! You're not falling for that. Regardless, I'll be there and if you happen to be out there dodging the masses, c'mon by. I'll be joined by Tim Luntzel on bass and Russ Meissner on the drums. There will be nice cocktails and an easy going vibe. We might play holiday music, but we might not. It all depends on the status of my relationship with the holiday spirit at any given moment...
Friday I'll be playing tailgate trombone with Kevin Dorn's Big 72 at the Garage, in the West Village. This band will be awesome, and a lot of fun. It will also be very late, and very long. There will most likely be a decorated and lit Christmas tree hanging upside down from the ceiling in full 360 degree rotation. All factors to consider.
Details about the above mentioned jolliness, as well as the rest of 2012 are below:
Have a wonderful holiday season! Get some rest!
