Barbes 2nite - Alobar Thurs - LIC Bar Saturday

Greetings.

I have been away.  Then I returned.  Amazing what a vacation will do for you.  I should try it again sometime...and not wait 10 years to do it.  Man.

Anyhoo, I'm back and diving in head first it seems...

Tonight you'll find me playing trombone, ukulele and glockenspiel (look out!) with Daria Grace and The Prewar Ponies at Barbes in Park Slope.  This is one my absolute favorite spots in NYC to listen to music, hands down.  Normally we play on the 2nd Thursday of every month.  However, this month we're being over-achievers by about 22 hours.  That's how we roll.  It's a great time, so I hope to see you there.

Tomorrow I'll be leading a trio (with Brian Nalepka on bass and Andrew Burns on durms) playing in my own neighborhood at the restaurant Alobar.  We'll be opening up their three day Tomato Fest.  Alobar has great food and $10 of the $48 prix fix goes to charity.  I believe the regular menu is also available but I definitely recommend you make reservations ASAP if you want to attend.  I'm assuming you can also hang out at the bar without a reservation.  It's certainly worth a try.  It's not often I lead a trio in the 'hood, so c'mon by if you can.

Saturday I'll also be playing in the 'hood.  I'll be joining local LIC Queens rockin' situation, The Big Daddy Project with the Vernon Horns.  This will be Big Daddy's big 5-0 birthday party and OMG it's gonna be a serious local blowout.  Crosstown Syndicate plays a set after us... so you'll be guaranteed a full night for your entertainment dollar (as many entertainment dollars as you want...the tip jar will be passed.)

All the important info for the above mentioned events (time, location, cover, etc)  is listed here, or you can just click on the "gig schedule" link to the right.

Take care!
