2nite Domaine Wine Bar in LIC - PreOrder Campaign Ends 3/15 - Barbès Tomorrow

As Winter feigns a retreat (yeah, we’ll see) I am advancing into your inbox with tidings of great… uh… well, they’re tidings.  That’s all I got.  “Tidings” is a great word, if nothing else.

The Pre-War Ponies are now at 50% of our goal in our pre-order campaign for the new record full of obscure 1920’s and 30’s tunes, “Get Out Under The Moon.”We have 5 days remaining in the campaign.  I’m very proud of this record (all recorded in my studio) and I think it sounds wonderful.  I also think it’s something you’ll want to play over again as a nice mellow soundtrack to whatever it is you’re doing.  That’s just me, and yeah…I’m biased.  I’ve been really amazed at the people coming out through the woodworks with their pre-orders. Rockethub (who is hosting the campaign) did a really nice interview with Daria and me about the record. You can see it here.  Thanks so much to everyone who has ordered, and if you haven’t please make your pre-order soon.  The opportunity ends on Sunday.  Yikes!

In other news…  I’ll be leading a trio on Vernon Blvd in LIC tonight at Domaine Bar a Vins.  I’ll be joined by pianist Matt Ray and bassist (“bassist” is a strange word) Brian Nalepka.  This spot is cozy, the wine selection is great, and they have cheese and oysters.  It’s a chill neighborhood spot, so please come by to chill and be neighborly!

Tomorrow, Thursday March 12th at 10pm you’ll find me playing trombone and ukulele with The Pre-War Ponies in beautiful Park Slope Brooklyn at our monthly residency at Barbès.  This is a great spot to hear the band, and our last gig before the end of the campaign.  We’ll have our snazzy little cards to give out (see picture) and snazzy little tunes to play.  Snazzy.
